Mocha Movement
Mocha Movement: A Breastfeeding Community was created to offer a space that is helpful and supportive for all interested in breastfeeding. Our group provides discussions centered around parenting and healthier infant feeding, connections to community resources, meetings, and fun activities.
Mocha Movement is unique compared to other mommy groups because the group is facilitated by a Certified Lactation Counselor, Melanie Hutton. Ms. Hutton also breastfed her three children and overcame tremendous obstacles to be successful and uses the experience, skills, and education gained to provide support to this group.
We look forward to welcoming any family interested in joining us and strengthening our efforts to create a culture that is focused on increasing the health and wellbeing of our parents and babies.
This group was created to offer helpful and supportive tools to increase breastfeeding initiation and success to those who seek it. Mocha Movement aims to offer an instant network of positive support, opportunities to learn from other moms, healthy infant feeding information, and connections to valuable community resources all while having a great time. Our group is unique because we focus on your goals and plans as a parent and meet you where you are in your breastfeeding journey to produce the best health outcome for you and your family.
Mocha Movement provides:
- Support groups for pregnant or postpartum women who identify as Women of Color and live in Jersey City or Paterson.
- Connection and educational opportunities for breastfeeding and maternal health professionals.
- A platform for breastfeeding and birth justice advocates to help promote breastfeeding in their community.
