Early Childhood Specialist

The first five years of life are the building blocks for a healthy future. The Partnership for Maternal & Child Health is excited to expand awareness of developmental health for the 0-5 population.

Gauging a child’s development can be difficult and stressful, especially for first-time parents.  The Ages and Stages Questionnaire can help parents assess their child’s development in the privacy and comfort of their own home.  Our ECS team members will connect parents with community resources, information and activities to help enhance development and ensure that every child thrives.

The Partnership’s Early Childhood Speciaist (ECS) program is a dedicated branch of Connecting NJ that provides families with developmental guidance, information on infant-toddler mental health and coach families on strategies for promoting attachment and pre-school readiness.

In partnership with DCF, the ECS team also participates in Plans of Safe Care meetings to enhance the strengths based model in supporting families and reducing out-of-home placements.
