A newborn’s brain doubles in size in the first year of life and keeps growing to nearly 80% of adult size by age three. Research has shown that a child’s experiences in these early years directly affects how the brain develops.
With these facts in mind, the Partnership works to provide education to families in Essex County who are pregnant or have a baby from newborn to 3 years old on the importance of exposing children during these fundamental years to language and vocabulary.
